Kristen Holt-Browning is a poet, writer, and freelance editor.

Her debut novel, Ordinary Devotion, has been called “a richly drawn story of religious and scholastic devotion” (Kirkus) that “sneaks up on your heart and brain with deftly drawn spiritual drama, becoming next to impossible to put down” (Blue Stone Press).

Her poetry chapbook, The Only Animal Awake in the House, was the runner up in the 2021 Moonstone Press Chapbook Contest.

Her poetry and fiction have been published in several literary anthologies and journals, including Hayden’s Ferry Review, Hunger Mountain, Little Patuxent Review, and Ninth Letter. She is a recipient of a Hortus Arboretum Residency for Literary Artists, and she was a finalist in the Kelsay Books 2022 Women’s Poetry Contest. Kristen earned an MA from University College London and a BA from Connecticut College. A native of the Hudson Valley region of New York State, she lives in Beacon, New York with her husband, two sons, two dogs, and a cat.
